Mrs. Gloria Swilling Lyles, 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.  She was a member of St. James Fellowship Church of God in New Port News, VA and retired from Riverside Regional Medical Center in New Port News, VA.

She is survived by a nephew that she reared in her home, Leon Swilling; two sisters, Rosa Mae Swilling Clinkscales and Pauline Swilling Wiley; one brother, Robert M. (Alice) Swilling; sister-in-law, Pearlie Swilling of New Port News, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews in South Carolina and Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude William Lyles; parents, Emanuel and Joanna Lockhart Swilling; one nephew reared in the home, Kevin Swilling; three sisters, Barbara Freeman, Izetta Williams and Georgetta Sloan; one brother, Lewis David Swilling; three brothers-in-law, JB Freeman, George Clinkscales, and Walter Wiley.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The entombment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at Hampton Memorial Gardens in Hampton, VA.  Cooke Brothers Funeral Home in New Port News, VA will be assisting the family.

The family is at the home of her niece, Debra Freeman (Willie) Eastrich, 1922 Amity Road Belton, SC 29627.
