Yvonne (Gilliard) Paulding

Yvonne Gilliard Paulding was born December 15, 1958 in Anderson County to the late Birdie Gilliard and John Walton. Yvonne worked for many years as a healthcare administrator in Charlotte, NC. On Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Atrium Health Hospital she entered into eternal rest.

She was an active participant in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Missionary Group where she assisted with community outreach and support in the local Charlotte area. Yvonne was a loving mother, dedicated daughter, compassionate sister, niece, cousin and friend to many.

Yvonne completed her undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina which was followed by completing her Masters in Health Administration at the University of Phoenix. She worked as a devoted health administration professional for many years providing exceptional care; going above and beyond for all of those whom she reached and served.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her mother Birdie Gilliard, father John Walton and brother Maurice Gilliard.

Yvonne leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories to two devoted children Felicia Yvonne Paulding of Charlotte, NC and Abrahm Omar Paulding of Las Vegas, NV. Two grandchildren Dion Hart Jr. and Donyae Maurice Hart of Charlotte, NC. Her legacy is also remembered by her loving siblings Pamela Gilliard of Anderson, SC, Michael Gilliard (Angela) of Seneca, SC, a cousin who grew up like a brother Bernard Shell (Karrie-Jo) of Decatur, GA and paternal siblings John Rhodes (Cathy) of Charleston, SC, Verlon Rhodes (Pam) of Columbia, SC, Milton Rhodes (Wanda) of Columbia, SC, Sidney Rhodes of Vicksburg, MS and Wendell Rhodes (Lana) of Easley, SC. Yvonne is also survived by her former husband Todd Paulding (D’jaris) of White Plains, MD. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  Public viewing will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
