Mrs. Willie Mae Vandiver Hall was born in Anderson, SC on January 3, 1943. Her mother, father and husband came in on Monday morning, May 22, 2023 and took her hand. Now her sons have another eternal Angel to watch over them.
Willie Mae was a caregiver by nature. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her sons, husband or anyone in her family. She spent several years in Philadelphia as a caregiver for her aunt Madeline. While in Philadelphia she received her life-saving treatment for Multiple Myeloma. She was a woman of great strength and determination. After her husband's stroke, she was by his side every day. She was the one who was able to get him to eat and walk again. She supported her sons in everything they did and was their best friend. Marie, Trey, Amber and Leilani were so special to her and were like her children. After moving back to Anderson, she lived with Chris. They spent many nights watching her favorite Madea movies and eating popcorn and popsicles. She also loved to dress, wear fine hats, and cook. She made the best macaroni and sweet potato cobblers.
She will be greatly missed but she left an awesome legacy in her sons that are a shining example of two men that loved, cared and took care of their parents and received the ultimate blessing in doing so.
She will be missed by her two sons, Chris Hall and Rodriquce A. (Marie) Hall; two grandchildren, Trey Hall and Amber Williams; one great-granddaughter, Leilani Wideman; three sisters, Fannie Hall, Cynthia (George) Hall and Rose Mary (Michael) Dill; four brothers, Frank Vandiver, David Vandiver, George (Linda) Vandiver and Anthony Vandiver; and a host of relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Hall; parents, Thomas Vandiver and Claudine Mattress Vandiver Heard; one brother, Thomas Vandiver; five half-siblings, Evelyn Mayes, Dorothy Jefferson, Tommie Simmons, Clarence Vandiver and Claude Vandiver.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing Thursday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
