Willie Dean (Mark) Jones

Willie Dean (Mark) Jones was born April 25, 1937, the daughter of the late Americus and Lillie Mae (Grant) Mark. She departed her earthly body on October 15, 2023 in Anderson, SC. She leaves to mourn her sons Steve (Yvette) Mark of Townville, SC, Jeffrey (Samantha) Jones of Anderson, SC and David (Latosha) Johnson of El Paso, TX, her daughters Shelby Jones, Jacqueline Todd and Joyce Mark all of Townville, SC and Rhonda (Timothy) Jones of Anderson, SC.

She also leaves to mourn her sisters Mary Johnson and Beulah (Willis) Scotland both of Anderson, SC, her sister Pearlie Johnson of Belton, SC and her brother Willie Melvin Mark of Townville. Her brothers-in-law Robert (Sara) Jones and William Jones of Anderson, SC; her sister-in-law Lula J Crawley of Burlington, NC, and sisters-in-law Dessie Johnson and Mary (Mark) Watts of Anderson, SC.

She also leaves to mourn 25 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded by her late husband, Nathaniel Jones, her son Tommy Elane Mark and her grandsons Michael Dean Jones and Stephen West. She was also preceded in death by her brothers John Preston Mark, Isaiah Mark, Waymon Mark, Walter Mark and Americus Mark, Jr.

The medical staff at AnMed 5 South was phenomenal in their care for Dean.  She worked at a textile mill until the late 1970s and spent her remaining years as a homemaker and caring for others. She was loved by many. She helped raise many of her grandchildren, some of her great grands and was a surrogate mother/grandmother to so many more. Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners will not be the same without her.

Dean was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Snow Hill Missionary Society.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Snow Hill Baptist Church.  Public viewing Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral service will be live-streamed from the Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home's Facebook page.

The family is at the home, 146 Dogwood Road in Townville, SC.
