Walter Miller "Slick" Earl was born in Anderson County, South Carolina on April 24, 1940 to James Lee and Iola Wiley Earl. He departed this life on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Walter was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Townville, SC. He retired as a Concrete Foreman with Duke Power.
He is survived by his children, Ola Mae Earl, Stanley Earl, Lamar (Phyllis) Earl, Ronald (Kimberly) Earl, Carolyn Jeffrey, Mary Whitner, Joann (Johnny Mack) Quarles, Gary Whitner, and Donnie Ray (Gloria) Whitner; sisters, Annie B. Gibson and Ola Mae Earl; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Lee Henderson Earl; his parents, Iola Earl and James Lee; son, Bruce Dale Earl; sisters, Ruth Earl, Willie Mae Earl, and Irene House; and brothers, Euville "Benson" Earl and Foster Earl.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at New Prospect Baptist Church (Townville). The interment will follow at Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing Saturday from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
At the request of the church, all attendees must wear a mask inside the church.
