Mrs. Violet Holden Mack, age 94 was born on March 11, 1929 in Oglethorpe, Georgia, to the late Joe Holden and Mille Witcher Holden. She was a member of Higher Dimensions Worship Center, where she served as the church Mother.
Mother Violet was employed with Anderson School District 5 for over 25 years when she retired. She was known in the neighborhood as Miss Violet and was loved by many. Always helping others and being kind in any way she could. She enjoyed being outdoors, walking and gardening, she loved flowers and plants. She also enjoyed cooking and was known for her signature potato salad and pecan pies. She loved spending time with her family on vacations and celebrating special occasions. All through her life God graced her with good health. Mother Violet had a beautiful spirit and carried herself with dignity.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son Frank Mack, Jr.; two brothers, Bobby Holden and Perry Dendy; nephew, Ray (Catherine) Holden and niece, Barbara Holden who were raised in the home; three grandchildren, Via (Damon) Thomas, Don (Alice) Mack, and Jason Mack; 3 great-grandchildren, Caleb Esuke, Raven and Makale Mack, and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank Mack, Sr.; one sister, Ethel Holden, and a brother Reece Holden; daughter-in-law, Pastor Diane Mack; sister-in-law, Geraldyn Holden.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home
