Mr. Vincente Rufin, Jr. was born in Manhattan County, New York on February 11, 1933. He departed this life on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.
While in New York, Vincente served in the United States Armed Forces and worked at Hilltop Elementary School. He met and married, Julia Rufino and through this union, one son, Keith Rufino was born. In his second marriage to Johnnie Mae Scott, he leaves one daughter, April Scott White.
Vincente and Johnnie Mae later moved to Anderson, SC. He began working at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Along with his children, he will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law, Eula Mae Scott; two sisters, Janette Rufino from New York and Ella Rufino Thomas from Fayetteville, GA; in-laws, Howard Scott and Sylvene Scott; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Mae Scott; parents, Vincente Rufino, Sr. and Cora Spencer Rufino; two brothers, Bobby Rufino and Milton Rufino; and three sisters, Ramona Rufino Wilson, Sonia Rufino, and Lorraine Rufino.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
Friends may pay their respects and send floral arrangements on Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
