Thomas E. Norris, Sr. was born in Anderson, South Carolina on June 12, 1939. He departed this life on March 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
For over 57 years, Thomas worked in the Grocery Industry. He worked for 55 plus years with Bilo and 2 additional years after the company changed to Food Lion. His years of experience and dedication moved him from various positions within the company, from bag boy to manager.
Thomas was a man of God. He loved spending time with family and singing on the Male Choir at his church, Charity Springs.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Lida Bell Leverette Norris; his two sons, Thomas (Sharon) Norris, Jr. and Tyrone (Melissa) Norris; six grandchildren, Tiffany Norris, Thomas Norris III, Izabella Norris, Joshua Norris, Sophia Norris, and Issac Norris; one great-granddaughter, Mia Brown; and two siblings, Debbie Yvonne Sherard and Sylvester Neal, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia Mae Norris Wilson and Sylvester Neal, Sr. and his brother, Otis Neal.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at New Silverbrook Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
