Terry Ann (Lee) Basnight

We celebrate the incredible life of Terry Ann Basnight, who peacefully passed away on March 23, 2025, surrounded by her family.  Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind—a life well-lived and well-loved.

Born on July 30, 1949, in Anderson, South Carolina, Terry lived a life full of laughter and joy.  She was fierce and had a gift for making everyone feel loved and held accountable. Terry’s greatest joy was gathering with friends and family, where stories were shared, and memories were made.

Above all, Terry loved boldly and lived fully. She taught us the meaning of kindness, strength, and unconditional love. Her laugh, bright and contagious, will echo in our hearts forever.

Terry is survived by her children, Eddie Lee, Florence Lee, Kendall Harkness, and Alex Taylor; aunts, Clara Terry of Anderson, SC and Mildred Goss of Hartwell, Georgia;  her siblings, Cathy Studgon Jones of Anderson, SC, Terrell Morrison of Hartwell, Georgia, Gail Boyd of Atlanta, Georgia, and Wanda J. Morrison of Hartwell, Georgia; her god-child, Celia Abercrombie; eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and countless friends who became family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James William Morrison and Florence Studgon Lee and one sister, Betty Jean Lee Davis.

Rest peacefully, Terry. You will always be our sunshine.

We invite all who loved Terry Ann to join us for a Celebration of Life Service at Westview Cemetery on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.  Public viewing will be held Friday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of her sister, Cathy Jones, 111 Bryson Road, Anderson, SC 29625.

The service will be lived-streamed via Zoom.
