Tasonya L. Poole

Ms. Tasonya L. Poole, 54, (AKA Tonya) was born on April 21, 1971 in New York. She passed away on July 21, 2025 at AnMed Hospital in Anderson, SC.

Tasonya had a love for fashion, traveling, and people to the point that she never met a stranger. It has been said that If she met you once, she never forgot you. She was a true fashionista when it came to her fashion, and you never caught her without her hair and nails done. She was full of so much Love and Compliments that she shared with so many people that she came in contact with. 

She resided in Spartanburg County where she attended school and was employed for over a decade. She then moved to Anderson County at the age of 21 and remained there for the remainder of her life making fun memories with family and friends that would always remain with those whom she loved.  She joined Generostee Baptist Church in Starr, SC.

Leaving behind to cherish her memories are her mother, Jimmie Nell Smith; step-father, William Smith Jr.; sisters, Jennifer Young and Doretha Cohen; Nephews,  Brendan Young and Quareiff Young, great nephews, great - great nephews and nieces, aunts and cousins and other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Lee Poole, and other loving family members.

The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The family is at 2403 Whitehall Ave, Anderson, SC.
