Tasha (Johnson) Pope

Tasha Consuela Johnson Pope, age 34 of Moncks Corner, SC, was born on Monday, September 11, 1989.  She entered into her Heavenly Home on Friday, August 16, 2024.

Tasha attended and graduated from T.L. Hanna High School in Anderson, SC where she was a member of the marching, concert, and chamber winds bands. She studied Nursing at the University of South Carolina – Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. She received her certifications in Phlebotomy and Ophthalmic Assistant from Trident Technical College in Charleston, SC. Tasha previously worked as a Patient Specialist at Carolina Cataract and Laser Center, and in March 2021, was featured on the cover of OPHTHALMIC PROFESSIONAL Magazine in the article “A Culture of Comradery.” Tasha currently worked as an Insurance Specialist for Humana.

Prior to relocating to Moncks Corner, SC in 2011, Tasha was a member of Strait Christian Church in Anderson, SC. Tasha joined the Power In The Word Worship Center, located in Moncks Corner, SC where she was a faithful member and Head Nurse for the Chief Apostle Lolita Brown. Tasha was an obedient servant for the Lord and touched many hearts. She instilled Faith, Love, Courage, Respect, Integrity, and much more into her children’s lives.

Tasha is survived by her mother, Velvet Bonita Johnson and father, Gregory F. Johnson of Anderson, SC; husband, Calvin Pope; daughters, Jada and Camryn Pope; son, Tyler Pope all of Moncks Corner, SC; sister, Chesnee Martin of Anderson, SC; brother, Marquez Johnson of Greenville, SC; uncle, Anthony Harris (Jeanette) of Atlanta, GA; grandmother, Judy Johnson of Anderson, SC; great aunts, Peggy Crosby and Diane Watkins; great uncle, Carnell Crosby; father-in-law, Howard Pope of Aiken, SC; mother-in-law, Lottie Pope of Blythewood, SC; brother-in-law, Michael Pope of South Korea; sister-in-law, LaToya Quick (James) of Blythewood, SC; nieces, Me’Austria Martin and Maliyah Johnson; nephews, Andre Jackson, Rajon Smith, Trevon Quick and Donovan Quick; great-niece, Maliah Martin; great-nephews, Ashton Martin and Karter Martin; and a host of cousins and friends.

Tasha was preceded in death by grandparents, Ada B. Wardlaw, James Arther Wardlaw and Matthew Johnson; uncles, Stan Johnson, Carl Wardlaw, Myron Wardlaw, and her nephew, Trevor Quick.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Strait Christian Church.  The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.  Public viewing will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
