Sharon Yolanda Smith

Sharon Yolanda Smith (age 52) of Belton, SC passed away on February 7, 2024, with her family and friends by her side. Sharon was born on March 9, 1971, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to the late Luther and Mittie B. Jackson Smith. Sharon moved to Anderson SC in 1980 and attended Westside High School.

She worked at Electrolux until her health began to decline. Sharon was a light to everyone she encountered.  She accepted everyone with an open heart and arms and with a perpetual smile. Sharon enjoyed traveling, shopping, dancing, eating, and hanging out with her friends. Most of all she enjoyed precious time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her two sons, Enoch Devante Gaines (Nyesha) and Stancio Darrelle Gaines (Jalisa) both of Anderson, SC; one granddaughter, Denyah Gaines; three grandsons, Damire Gaines, Tymire Gaines, and Jayveon Geer; Godchildren, Tyvion Dennis, Ray’Jamier Groves, King Hogan, and Nevaeh Hogan; aunts, Ola Dean Forest and Delores Ware.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents  Luther and Mittie B. Jackson Smith, maternal grandparents Enoch and Lee Ray Jackson; aunts, Ruby Cason, LD Jackson, Cora Johnson, Ida Hines, and Bornie-Ella McKinnon; uncles, Lonnie Jackson, Richard Jackson, Bobby Jackson, and a special aunt, Esther Jackson, who she held dear to her heart.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  Public viewing Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
