Shanessa Lynea "Nay-nay" Gaines

Ms. Shanessa Lynea "Nay-nay" Gaines, age 27, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026 at AnMed Health Center.

Shanessa was a 2017 graduate from Westside High School. She loved spending time with her family especially with her nieces, nephews, mother, sister, brother, and other family members. Her presence would always light up the room and bring a lot of cheer to everyone she came in contact with. She will be dearly missed and her memories will be cherished forever.

Shanessa will be dearly missed by her mother, Corissa (Calvin Davis); father, Tameko Blanding (Sherry); sister, Nyzhay Gaines; brother, Mason Blanding (Jenique Watt); step sister, Sakiya Walker; step brother, Tyren Walker; two special nieces, Malaysia Gaines and Zhamiyah Evans; two special nephews, Kyne Powell and Mazen Blanding; her loving grandmothers, Marie Gaines Smith and Sara Ann Blanding. She also leaves behind a very special friend Parriss Thompson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Shanessa was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Alfonzo Jones, Steve Hoover, Alphonso Smith; neice, Sonvia Blanding; cousins, Saneya Walton, Cormyus Dennis, and Quindarious (Dee) Dennis

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.  Public viewing will be held Monday from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
