Mrs. Ruby Witcher Boseman, age 82, entered into eternal rest on May 29, 2020 in Charlottesville, Virginia. She is a native of Anderson County area and moved to Virginia in 2018. Ruby and her twin sister, the late Ruth Witcher Simmons, were born on October 12, 1937 in Starr, SC to the late Willie and Violet Watkins Witcher. They were the youngest of 14 children.
Ruby graduated from New Deal School in Starr, SC in 1956. She was a faithful member of Welfare Baptist Church and served as a Deaconess and on the Missionary Society. She retired from Richard M Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. She was a volunteer at the Anderson Soup Kitchen and the Anderson Free Clinic.
She leaves to cherish her memory-Regina Boseman and Diego Anderson of Charlottesville, Virginia, Claudette Witcher of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Stefan and Frances Witcher of Anderson, South Carolina, and Stephen Witcher of Greenville, South Carolina. Ruby has one remaining brother, Herbert Witcher and sister, Verna Witcher (Sam) Robinson and also a host of nieces and nephews. Her loving legacy will continue to live on in DeeJay, Julia, Sydney, Drequis, Stefan Jr, Natasha, Rodrick, and Ishea.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Roger Boseman; her parents Willie and Violet Watkins Witcher, her sisters Ruth, Blanche, Bernice, Beatrice, Victoria, Millie, Annie Mae, Elizabeth, and Brothers Willie T, Joe, John D, George, and Onice Gray.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Welfare Baptist Church Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.
The family is at the home of Verna and Sam Robinson, 1800 Bolt Dr., Anderson, SC 29621.
