Roland B. Kirksey

Roland Kirksey, age 57, transitioned to his Heavenly Home to reside with the Lord on August 30, 2022.  He was born to the late Herbert Lee Kirksey and Willie Parnese Isom Kirksey. 

Roland, affectionately known as “Boss Hogg” was loving, caring and a singer at heart. His passion for singing the Gospel of Jesus throughout South Carolina, and surrounding areas made him a pinnacle to everyone he met. He Always had a Song in his Heart, Proclaiming the Word of God through Song. He attended Full Gospel Outreach. He loved family and fellowship. To him, family was and is everything. He taught us so many things about life.

Roland is survived by his children, Braquiece J. Kirksey and Minister Tazzmiel L. Jones (Ryan); one grandchild, Ryan Xavier Jones; his beloved siblings: Bishop Marshall Isom (Brenda), Bobby Ray Isom (Shirley), Sharon D. Rogers, Elaine Johnson (Robert), Anthony (Christi) Isom, Sandra Isom, Stepphanie Isom, Jeanetta Wright (Rufus), Belinda Wansley (Dexter), Alwanda Ellis, Sylivia Kirksey, and Daphne Van Buren; aunt, Mary Ann Isom; and host of loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Fowler Kirksey.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 2, 2022 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
