Robert Lee Hester

Mr. Robert Lee Hester was born September 30, 1962 in Anderson, SC.  He passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

He is survived by his son, Chantommie McBride, Sr.; two grandchildren, Chantommie McBride, Jr. and Cha'kayla Liroz McBride; five sisters, Mattie Willingham (Manuel), Elizabeth Baskin (Larry), Gracie Brown, Barbara A. Rogers (Kenny), and Lula Mae Chamblee all of Anderson, SC; one brother, Joe D. Bowman (Pam) of Iva, SC; he was once married to, Theresa Skelton; three aunts, Sylvene Webb, Doellen Bowman-Paul (J.L.) and Mattie Mae McGowan; two uncles, Melvin Bowman (Ida Mae) and Johnny Bowman;  and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Hall and Nellie Mae Hester Bowman; five sisters, Joyce Ann Thompson, Rosella McBride, Nellie Ann Bowman, Brenda Hall, and Irene Paul; two brothers, George Hester, Jr. and James Hall; stepfather, Dan L. Bowman; grandparents, Chick Hester, Moriah Smith-Davis; step grandmother, Lucinda Bowman; sister-in-law, Sharon Hall; brothers-in-law, Larry McBride, George D. Willingham, and Stanford Chamblee.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  Public viewing Tuesday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  

The family is at the home, 312 Leona Drive, Iva, SC.
