Rev. William Henry Kennedy, 69, of Iva, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on April 9, 2026. Born on February 26, 1957, in Abbeville, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Annie Laura Kennedy and the late Henry Kennedy. He was a native of Calhoun Falls and later resided at his home in Iva, SC.
Rev. Kennedy was a devoted pastor of Faith Fueled Ministry. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was married 43 years to his loving wife, Marlene Kennedy, with whom he shared a life filled with faith, family, and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Keith Kennedy; and one sister, Thelma Deloris Kennedy.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Kevin Clark (Kimberly Belton) of Abbeville, SC; Ricardo (Kim) Calhoun of Newberry, SC; Desergio Kennedy (Ashley Vongsouvanh) of Calhoun Falls, SC; and Laquentavia Kennedy (Vincent Anderson) of Iva, SC. He also leaves behind two grandchildren who resided in the home, Wilontae Anderson and Anthinay Hudson, along with 12 other grandchildren.
Rev. Kennedy is also survived by his brothers: Curtis Bell of Calhoun Falls, SC; John (Jeanette) Kennedy of Calhoun Falls, SC; and Robert (Cindee) Kennedy of Greenwood, SC.
He is lovingly remembered by his sisters: Virginia (John) Glover, Kathleen Banks, Gloria Gray, Connie Wardlaw, Audrey (Jeffrey) Ford, and Dale (Johnny) Gilchrist, all of Calhoun Falls, SC, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Rev. Kennedy was a retired man who found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He loved hunting, fishing, and cooking, and he was especially passionate about preaching and sharing his faith with others. He will be remembered for his strong spirit, his love for family, and the wisdom he shared with those around him.
His legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Springfield Baptist Church (Calhoun Falls). Interment will follow at Brownoh A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Calhoun Falls funeral home.
