Pearlie Mae Frazier Gray was born March 21, 1937 in Anderson, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Jack Reese Frazier and Christina Moore Frazier. Pearlie departed this earthly life on Monday, July 4, 2022. Pearlie was married to the late James Yancy Gray, Jr., who preceded her in death.
Pearlie received Christ at an early age. She was baptized and joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Sitton. Later, after marriage, she moved her membership to Generostee Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her illness. She was an active member of the Missionary, Pulpit Aid #1, Circle #2, Matron and Senior Choir.
Pearlie loved people and she loved to cook and invite family and friends to eat. She loved her family, “Her children”, and the Lord. She worked for several years at Scott Shirt Plant and for almost thirty years for Ernest and Susan Martin before retiring in March 2021.
Pearlie leaves to cherish her fond memories: four adoring children, Sadie Pope (Boston, MA), Doris Boseman (Tim) of (Charlotte, NC), Patricia Gray and Jimmy Gray (Anderson, SC); sibling: Jessie Frazier (Mary) of (Anderson, SC); six affectionate and loving grandchildren, seven Great Grandchildren, and five Great, Great Grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews and relatives. Two children she raised and loved like her own, Hugh and Cameron Martin and a special friend, Jimmy Brown.
She was preceded in death by two siblings, sister, Ella Mae Frazier Stanley and brother, J. D. Frazier. A sister-in-law, Luevenuie Frazier and brother-in-law, George Stanley.
The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Generostee Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
