Mrs. Onie Williams "Polly" Estrich was born July 22, 1921 in Anderson, South Carolina to Charlie and Lucy Hallums Williams. She peacefully passed away on October 22, 2025 at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.
Polly was a very independent woman. She was a hard worker. Even in her golden years, she still raked leaves, hung up her clothes, and cleaned her own house. She loved to cook and care for her children and grandchildren. She worked for many years as a meat cutter at Wright's Provisions Meat Plant.
Polly was very comical. She kept people laughing with the things she would say. You never knew what was about to come out of her mouth.
Family was important. She taught her family many things about life. She loved to drink yellow root tea and eat blackberry pie. She loved to cook, and work her garden and flowers.
Polly inspired a lot of people. Her love and wisdom will be dearly missed by her seventeen grandchildren, her many great-grandchildren and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Williams; parents, Charlie and Lucy Williams; two children, Della Mae Williams Estrich and William Howard Williams; her siblings, Israel Adams, Ethelene Henderson, Hattie Collins, and Rose Ann Cunningham; and grandchildren, Karen Williams, Charles Williams, Priscilla Mattison, Sonny Estrich, and Elizabeth Estrich.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at their respective homes.
