Mildred Jean (Cannon) Oglesby

Mrs. Mildred Jean Cannon Oglesby was born in Pickens County on October 19, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Joe Daniel Earl and Nettie Mae Cannon Earl. She departed this life on Saturday, August 22, 2020.

She was married to the late Paul Oglesby Jr. on August 1, 1981.  She joined Abel Baptist Church in Clemson at an early age and years later she joined White Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Central, SC.  She worked for ARA Mark food Service for 31 years as a Bakery Supervisor.

She leaves behind her son, Rickey Earl of Houston, TX, one nephew raised in the home like her son, Senior Chief Hassan Akim Earl (Raushana) of Port St. Lucie, FL; three stepsons, Clarence Oglesby of Mary Esther, FL, Gerald Boyce Oglesby (Alma Lee) of Seneca,SC, and Michael Lee Oglesby (Furmella) of Clemson, SC; and one daughter/granddaughter, Clarissa Zimmerman (Chris) of Blythewood, SC.  She also leaves behind her sister, Nancy Belinda Earl of Detroit, MI; her aunt, Annie Pearl Cannon Grant (Jonah) of Pendleton, SC, and her uncle, Danny Cannon (Annie Ruth) of Central SC.

In addition, she is survived by two godchildren, Kiara Harrison of Clemson, SC and Donte Montez Harrison of Pendleton, SC and a host of grands, great grands, and other relatives and friends.

She preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Joe T. Earl, and two special friends, Loretta Strickland and Robert Hall.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Memory Gardens in Clemson, SC.

The family is at the home.

Friends may pay their respects and send floral arrangements on Friday from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
