Mary Earlene (Linen) Osias

Mary Earlene Linen-Osias, affectionately known as "Lean," was born on September 25, 1951, to the late Timothy James Linen Sr. and Reader Bell Aiken. Raised in Ruffin, South Carolina, she relocated to Brooklyn, New York, as a teenager, where she began her career in nursing.

In 2000, she moved to Anderson, South Carolina, where she worked for NHC before joining South Carolina DHEC and the Anderson Health Department. Following an initial retirement, she returned to the workforce at the United States Postal Service Greenville Hub. She retired for a second time after four years of dedicated service.

She attended Pillars of Love Church of Jesus Christ in Calhoun Falls, South Carolina. She also spent her final years enjoying sewing, flea markets,  thrift stores, and spending time with her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Timothy James Linen Jr.

Left to celebrate her legacy are her sons, Isiah Norman Jr. of Calhoun Falls, SC and Clyford Francois of Brooklyn, NY; her daughters, Towana Osias of Anderson, SC, Kawana Osias of Brooklyn, NY, Cinthia Francois of Brooklyn, NY, and Glenda Thomas of Calhoun Falls, SC; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five adopted grandchildren, and four adopted great-grandchildren; her sister, Sarah Linen of Upper Marlboro, MD; her aunt, Rosa Lee Stokes-Linen of Beaufort, SC; her great aunt, Maxine Black of Brooklyn, NY; her special caregiver April Monique Bryant; and a host of relatives.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Spring Grove Baptist Church (Mt. Carmel, SC). Public viewing will be held on Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home (Calhoun Falls, SC). 

The family will receive friends at the home of her son on Thursday and Friday at 512 Seneca Street, Calhoun Falls, South Carolina 29628.
