Mary Elaine Martin

Mary Elaine Martin, 56, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

She was born in Anderson, SC on March 27, 1965 to Neil Leonard Martin and Diane McCord Martin.  She attended Starr-Iva Elementary School before moving to Brooklyn, New York.  While in New York, she attended IS-246 and Sheep Bay High School.  After moving back to Anderson, South Carolina, Mary worked at AnMed Health Medical Center.  She loved playing cards, listening to music, cooking different recipes, and she especially loved children.

She will be dearly missed by her two children, Winston Smith and Samantha Smith; two children reared in the home, Animah Boomer and Amere Boomer; two brothers, Niel Leonard Martin, Jr. of Anderson, SC and Tiequan Martin of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Margaret Martin and Rose Martin both of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil Leonard Martin and Diane McCord Martin and one sister, Patricia Martin.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Crossroad C.M.E. Church.  The interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Samantha Smith, 105 Lari Lane, Apt. D, Anderson, SC 29625.
