On August 22, 1955, a beautiful baby girl was born to Birdie and Charles Murray and her name was Martha Ann Murray. "Mott" as we all called her, went home to her heavenly Father on July 21, 2024 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Mott joined Trinity Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Westside High School in Anderson, SC. After high school, Mott worked at Anderson Memorial Hospital, Anderson County Courthouse, and retired from the Anderson County Library. After retiring, Mott started taking family and friends to doctor appointments and doing whatever she could to help others.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Jackson; her two daughters, Michelle Murray and Christina Murray of Anderson, SC; grandsons, Ryikelain (Nadia) Spigner of Gainesville, FL, Xavion Moses of Anderson, SC; great-granddaughter, Zahra of Gainesville, FL; two aunts, Doris Baskin of Anderson, SC and Leathia Williams of Mt. Rainier, MD; two special cousins/sisters, Brenda Samuels of Anderson, SC and Lisa Clark of North Carolina; and a host of close cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; a special uncle, Jimmy Young; and a host of uncles and aunts.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. Public viewing Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
