Mark Anthony Pressley, 52, of Anderson, SC, passed away November 29th, 2023. Mark was born August 7th, 1971 in Buffalo, New York to the late Mattie Pressley. He attended Westside High School and Camden Military School. Mark was raised by his grandmother, the late Virgie Mattison Pressley. He was also reared in the home of his uncle Vance and aunt Marquita Pressley.
After graduating, Mark attended South Carolina State University before enlisting in the United States Army. He was also part of Prince Hall Masonic Lodge. As a man who wore many hats, working at Clemson University and Delta Airlines just to name a few. The sky was not the limit when it came to Mark. He went beyond to provide.
To know Mark, was to love him. His overall presence and light kept everyone who loved him together. Through the years he enjoyed movies, entertaining, dancing, and traveling. His number one passion was cooking, you could say a plate served by him could honestly mend a broken heart. There was never a moment when he was around that you did not laugh or smile.
Mark wore many titles: father, grandfather, brother, son, friend, and so on. He leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter Sennika Mattee Pressley; his uncle and aunt, Mr. Vance and Mrs. Marquita Pressley; as well as a host of family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The interment will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
