Macie Wright Obituary

Macie Gertude Prince Wright, a beloved soul whose presence illuminated the lives of many, peacefully passed away at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, South Carolina, on March 29, 2024. Born on July 20, 1941, in Anderson, South Carolina, to proud parents Tommie Prince and Eldora Mattison Prince, Macie's journey on this earth touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Macie's life was marked by profound love and deep loss. She was preceded in death by her parents. Macie also mourned the passing of her siblings, Dorothy Prince Walton, Thomas Prince, Glenora Winn, and Odis Telley.

Macie married her childhood soulmate Marvin Wright on September 2nd, 1961 and from that union they had five children: Tony Wright, Donnie Wright (Stacie), Marvin Wright (Juanita), Terri Wright, and Dorothea Wright Briggman (Kelvin). Her legacy is continued through her eleven grandchildren: TJ, Matthew, Janae, Machaud, Sophie, Kristinia, Markus, Taryn, Jiya, Joi'; Joshua, and Lauren. Macie's love also extended to her three great-grandchildren, Ember, Oliver, and Levi, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, 1 great aunt, 2 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and a host of friends who held a special place in her heart.

Macie's professional journey was one of dedication and perseverance. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and served in many roles throughout her career. She worked in various hospitals, and she retired from Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. She was very influential and made a significant impact on medicine by training many of Anderson's CNAs and nurses. Her passion for caring for others shone through in her work, and she left a lasting impact on everyone she touched.

A devout member of Asbury Memorial Baptist Church and later in life a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, Macie found immense joy in her faith and community. She actively participated in church activities and served in various roles: she founded and led the Health Ministry; she also sang in the Community Workshop Choir and as a missionary. Her love for God was evident in every aspect of her life, and she strove to share the message of Christ with all those around her.

Above all, Macie will be remembered for her unwavering love and acceptance. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and open heart. Macie's legacy of resilience and kindness will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration, guiding us with the reminder that "in faith, anything is possible." Macie's legacy of love, strength, and faith will
continue to shine brightly.
