Leon McClinton, Sr.

Mr. Leon McClinton, Sr. was born in Anderson, South Carolina on March 5, 1942. He passed away on May 19, 2025 in Augusta, GA.

Mr. McClinton was a retired educator/coach from Anderson School District Five.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Irine Thomason McClinton; son, Leon McClinton, Jr.; daughter, Tonja Lee McClinton Ford (Richard); granddaughter, Sloane Maudiere Ford; grandson, Harrison McClinton Ford; and two nieces, J. Sharie McClinton Griffin (Stephen Kim), Carolyn Annette McClinton, and his sister-in-laws Carolyn Thomason, Agnes Johnson and Freddie Williams (Rev. Lee Andrew), and extended family, of whom all brought great joy to his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maudiere Seaborn McClinton, his brother, Charlie Mack McClinton, one nephew, Javon Arnaz McClinton, and sister-in-law, Corine Thomason Owens.

No public service will be held for Mr. McClinton.
