Karen L. Leverette, 61, (lovingly known as "Twin") of Anderson, SC transitioned on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House. She was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina to the late Clifford and Lillie Ruth Leverette.
Karen joins her parents, her twin sister Sharon Smith, her brother Harry Gordon, and aunts and uncles in her heavenly home.
Karen graduated from Crescent High School with the class of 1983. She was an active member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where she joined at the tender age of 5 years old in the old church. She was a part of the Children's, Young Adult, Adult Ensemble, and Sanctuary choirs. She was also active in the Youth Ministry, Kitchen Committee, Birthday Committee, Family Promise, YWA's and WMU's. In her free time, she would volunteer in any way that she could. She was also a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Karen leaves to cherish her fond memories to her brothers, Tyrone and Darryl Leverette both of Anderson, SC; nieces, Hydiah Leverette of Anderson, SC and Carolace Scarborough (Marcus) of Augusta, GA; nephew, Donterious Smith of Anderson, SC; god-daughter, Fehlise Gwana Fay Ka'Rone Coley of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of other loving relatives and close friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
