Juanita Covington Robinson was born in Abbeville County, South Carolina on April 5, 1946 to Willie and Hallie Bell Covington. She peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Juanita joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She was a dedicated member and missionary until her health declined. Juanita graduated from New Deal High School and worked in the textile industry for many years at Haynesworth Mill, Ryobi, and eventually retired from Wamsutta Plant (Springs Industries).
Nene, as she was called by her family and friends, was very soft-spoken and a woman of few words. She spent her life caring for others and spending precious moments with her family. Each day after watching Young & the Restless and Bold & the Beautiful, NeNe would cook a full-course meal. Even though Nene never drove a car, that didn't stop her from getting around. She would jump from car to car traveling with her kids and grands. If she wasn't with the kids or grandkids, she would be with Ruth, Catherine, and her sister Marilyn.
To know Juanita was to love her! She was truly a virtuous woman. She fought a good fight and finished her race. Even though she will be missed, her memory will live forever in the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly missed by her children, Tracy (Barry) Lee, Maury Robinson, Armorie Michelle Robinson, Rodney Robinson, and Renata B. Robinson (Kinta) Willingham; bonus children, Willie Groves and Jo Ann Groves; grandchildren, Sheniqua Robinson, who was reared in the home, Wilneshia Robinson, CaDarius Robinson, TraBarry Lee, TraSean Lee, TraBari Lee, JaQuez Robinson, Raylin Robinson, Kash Robinson, Makayla Hanks, DJ Brownlee, Darius Groves, Cavel Brown, and Andrea Groves; great-grandchildren, Shamaria Wardlaw, Jeremiah Wardlaw, Skylar Douglas, Maison Douglas, Brayla Robinson, Jaxson Robinson, Atreus Lee, Maliah Groves, Ava Tilley, and Easton Tilley; two sisters, Dorothy Covington and Marilyn Covington; one brother, Willie Covington, Jr.; special nieces, Gloria Boozer, Angel Williams-Johnson, Lovey Covington, and Holly Covington; special nephews, Jon Eric Covington, Carondus Covington, Rodney Williams, and Kevin McHaney; in-laws, Faye (Joe) Williams, Marvenia Liddell, Norma Jean Robinson, Stanley Robinson, Viola Robinson, Verna Robinson, Annette Covington, and Deborah Robinson; daughter-in-love, Carmen Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
