Ms. Josie Elizabeth Houston was born in Bartow, Florida on September 8, 1991 to Verna J. Dooley and Joseph Houston. She passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Josie was a very giving and kind-hearted person. She was a strong-willed person that didn't easily give up. Even with her illness, she still worked hard to care for others. When she wasn't feeling her best, she still went to work and gave her all to the Veterans at Richard Campbell Nursing Center.
Josie will be missed but her kindness and determination will always be remembered. She will be dearly missed by her mother, Verna Johnson Dooley; step-father, Otis "OC" Johnson; one sister, Briana Zaire Dooley; two brothers, David Elijah Dooley and Brian K. Demetric Dooley; and a host of relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Houston and brother, Katoya Wallace.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.
