Mr. Joseph “Joe” Dean, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on September 24, 1947, and peacefully departed this life on April 11, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, faith, and devotion to those he cherished most.

He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Jeneretha Dean. Together, they built a strong foundation centered on family, faith, and commitment.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Sharlene (O’range) Dean-Green of Anderson, Ursula Dean of Summerville, Christopher Rice of Anderson, Antonio Rice of Anderson, and Jeneen A. Webb of Greenwood. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Eris Corbin, Bralyne Dean, Breon Bryson, Nyaffa Dean, Derrio Maxwell, Kameron Johnson, Katelyn Webb, and Zabrea Rice; as well as 14 great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by his loving sister, Mary Mack of Williamston; his sisters-in-law, Dessie Tucker of Anderson and Nancy Rice of Asheville; his brother-in-law, George Rice of Asheville; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Joe received his education at Spearman High School and furthered his studies at Denmark Technical College. He was a hardworking and skilled individual who dedicated many years of service to Duke Power before retiring. Known for his many talents, he was also a gifted gardener, handyman, electrician, and mechanic—always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

A man of deep faith, Joseph was a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church. There, he faithfully served as a Trustee and on the Men’s Ministry.  His commitment to his church and community was a testament to his unwavering belief and servant’s heart.
