Johnny "Short Dog" Dawson

Johnny "Short Dog" Dawson was born on October 10, 1960 to John James "Dude" Dawson and Juanita Jones Dawson.  He passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

He was a member of Nell Townsend Presbyterian Church in Anderson, SC.  He enjoyed doing landscaping work and spending time with his family and close friends.

He will be dearly missed by his special friend, Mattie Blanding; daughter, Anita Corley; three grandchildren; nine sisters, Bernice Isaac and Sally Willingham both of New York, Willie Bell Bowers, Maggie Cobbs, Wanda Ann Bowers, Deborah Dawson all of Columbia, SC, Mary Burton, Edna Mae Gibert, and Ilinda Young all of Anderson, SC; three brothers, Dennis Robinson, Henry Lewis Arnold, and John Will Payton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Mary Latimer, Bertha Latimer, Peggy Dawson, Lillie Bell Dawson, Lillian Mae Ben, and Elease Glover; and five brothers, Waddell, Henry, John J., Marcell, Timmy, and Bobby Dawson. 

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Nell Townsend EPC Presbyterian Church.  The interment will follow at Wilson Creek #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home, 407 Joseph Street Anderson, SC.
