John W. White

On May 28, 2024, our beloved John Wayne White, age 62, gained his eternal wings at AnMed Health, Anderson, SC.  He now walks alongside the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Those who love him mourn his transition, yet celebrate the life he lived.

John was the fourth child of the late Willie D. and Bernice V. White, born on Friday, February 16, 1962.  His former years as a child were spent in Iva and Starr South Carolina with his parents and eight of his ten siblings.  At a young age he became a member and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Anderson County, South Carolina.  He was educated in the Anderson County School System and graduated from Crescent High School.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Donnie Richardson, Roger Richardson, and Tina Hartley.

John loved sharing a plethora of stories from his childhood rearing and the many attributes of life with its lessons from those formative years.  John was an avid sports fan.  At any time you'd find him and his spouse, Sabrina, enjoying football or basketball.  His favorite teams were the Baltimore Ravens and the University of South Carolina Women's Basketball Team.  He also enjoyed fishing, especially with his brothers.  They would always compete with each other, bragging about who caught the largest and the most fish.  They told the greatest fish tales with joy and laughter, upon returning from their fishing adventures.

John worked in the textile industry for over twenty-five years.  Due to health issues, John retired from Glen Raven in 2003.  In 2010, he was joined in holy matrimony to his soulmate, life partner, and best friend, Sabrina Lee Epps, who he affectionately nicknamed her "Doodah-bug".  Sabrina returned the sentiment with his nickname, "Baby".  They loved one another so much.  Sabrina cared for John throughout his failing health until he transitioned from this early realm.

John and Sabrina combined have three sons, Johnathan White of Simpsonville, SC, Calvin (Jenna) Walker of Texas, and Sanchez Epps of Anderson, SC; one daughter, Ariel (Byrd) Galloway of Belton, SC.  They also have eight grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife and children, he also leaves to cherish many fond and wonderful memories, his siblings, Joann White, Willene White, David (Joann) White, Nina (Marcus) Martin all of Anderson, SC, Marshall (Angela) White and James White both of Starr, SC, and Jerry (Bonita) White of Belton, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

John's memory will live on through his wife, beautiful family, and loving friends.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  Public viewing Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home
