Joe Billy Jones

Mr. Joe Billy Jones was born in Anderson County, South Carolina on September 12, 1938.  He departed this life on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, SC.

Joe and Emily Wiley Jones married on September 15, 1963 in Pendleton, SC. He retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service. During his military service, he attended several universities pursuing an associate's degree. He also attended Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC  following his retirement from military service.  After retiring, he worked for Kmart for a number of years. Joe was a member of Mtn. Spring Baptist Church in Anderson, SC.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Emily Wiley Jones; daughter, Sharon Jones; son, Keith Jones; sister, Florida Mae Jones Aiken;  grandchildren, Cailan Jones and Alex Jones; and a host of relatives.  Public viewing will be held on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lurene Smith Jones and one brother, Lewis Jones.

The funeral service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.  Public viewing will be held on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
