Jannie Ruth (Moss) Rainey

Jannie Ruth Moss Rainey, age 77, of Anderson, SC, passed away on February 5, 2025 at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.  She was born in Anderson, SC to the late Nathaniel Moss and Alberta Polite Moss.  She was a 1965 graduate of Westside High School.  She retired from Electrolux.  She was a faithful and dedicated member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Pendleton, SC until her health declined.

Jannie was a loving, kind, nurturing, and giving person.  Everyone that she came in contact with just adored and loved her.  Her family was her pride and joy!  They meant the world to her!  Jannie had a keen sense of humor and was always saying things to make you laugh and smile.  She was the glue that held her family together.

Those left to cherish her precious and fond memories are her three children, Marlon Lee Rainey (Catherine), Lawana Thompson, and Adrina Gray (Tyrone) all of Anderson, SC; a devoted and loving niece of the home, Cheryl Moss Robinson; a niece reared in the home, Latasha Moss; three grandchildren, Brianna Thompson, Donovan Thompson, and Jaylin Rainey; four great grandchildren, Khloe Gray, Kacie Cohen-Foster, Asher Gray, and Keagan Gray; two devoted, loving, and caring friends, Lee Ann Thompson and Pastor Adrain Patterson; a special cousin, Shirley Hagood; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Mack Charles Moss and Joe Nathan Moss; and one grandson, Kenyata Gray.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  The interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery.  Public viewing will be held Sunday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of her son, Lee (Cathy) Rainey, 614 Fairmont Rd., Anderson, SC.
