It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jamyuz Kanyi Bennett, who departed this life on April 28 at the age of 21.
Jamyuz was born on January 11, 2005, in Anderson, SC to Felicia Cowan & Ricus Bennett. From an early age, he was known as Man or Jezzy, but his family and friends mostly called him Bezo. He was kind-hearted, strong in spirit, and had so much sense of humor. He brought light and joy to those around him and will be remembered by all his friends and family.
He attended Bridge Academy and had a passion for basketball, skateboarding, music, and many other things. Those who knew him will always remember how he made people laugh and his smile.
Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him. His kids were his pride and joy, Mercaydes, Kason, and his soon to be born baby.
Jamyuz leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his children; his parents; step-father, Christopher Gray; two brothers, Xavier Burton and Khamiye Bennett; and two sisters, Tytonna Williams and Rydasia Cowan. He will also be lovingly remembered by his aunts, Brenda Butler and Adrian Patterson; uncles, Erica Patterson, James Bennett, Corey Roebuck, and Darius Cowan. He will be deeply missed by Gwen Richardson, Keana Richardson, Dondriques and Jessica Prince, Kavarius and Teneshia Harrison, Heather and Jay Conway, VonQuiesha Patterson, Lisa Patterson, Adaryus Patterson, Deon Hunter, Troy White, and Yolanda Hall.
Jamyuz was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jesse Mae Thomas and Marva Cowan; his grandfather, Marshall Roebuck; aunts, Marige and Geraldine Roebuck; uncles, David and Willie Roebuck; and his cousin, Sanchez Hunter.
Rest in peace Jamyuz. You will always be loved and never forgotten.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
