On the morning of June 27, 2025, James Eugene Geer departed this life peacefully at his home. He was born in Belton, South Carolina, to the late Franklin and Odella (Thompson) Geer. James was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting and was a respected community leader and active member of Welfare Baptist Church.
He was a proud graduate of Belton-Honea Path High School. James worked at various manufacturing plants throughout Anderson County and retired after thirty years of dedicated service at Michelin Tire Corporation (US2), where he served as a forklift operator in Group Six, supplying blocks to all production groups.
James shared forty-seven wonderful years with the love of his life, Patricia Gambrell Geer. From this union, two sons were born: Jermaine Monta (Tamekia) of Columbia, SC, and Brandon Terrell Geer of Simpsonville, SC. They later adopted a daughter, Tamika L. Dickson of Anderson, SC.
He leaves to cherish his memory of four grandchildren: Aaron Graceson Geer, Tamya Jones, Gabriel Booker, and Darrin Booker. He is also survived by siblings Shirley (Glen) Davis, John (Doris) Geer, and Mallie Wheeler, all of Anderson, SC; Ollie Geer and Alice Geer of Belton, SC; Edgar Geer of Atlanta, Georgia; and Leonard Geer of Apex, North Carolina. In addition, a host of nieces, nephews, and cherished friends fondly remembers him.
James was preceded in death by his siblings: sisters Linda, Janie, and Emma Geer, and brothers Tedrick and George Geer.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Welfare Baptist Church. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing Monday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
