Jacqueline “Jackie” Denise Harris was born on May 5, 1960, in Anderson, South Carolina to Grady Clinkscales and the late Novella Clinkscales. A lifelong resident of Anderson, Jackie peacefully departed this life on April 23, 2025.
Jackie attended T.L. Hanna High School and later obtained her GED. She was united in marriage to the late Fredrick Harris. Though she never worked outside the home, Jackie devoted her life to being a loving caregiver, always ready to support her family and friends with unwavering compassion and warmth. Known for her magnetic personality, Jackie was truly the life of the party. Her quick wit and infectious humor brought joy to every gathering. She had a remarkable talent for cooking, and her meals—always prepared with love—nourished both the body and soul of everyone fortunate enough to sit at her table.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Harris; her mother, Novella Clinkscales; and her brother, Savalas Cowans.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her son, Nicholas (LeQuinta) Clinkscales; her father, Grady (Willma) Clinkscales; and her siblings: Gwen (Alan) Eppinger, Sharon Scotland, Roslyn Clinkscales, Toni Clinkscales, Mary (Kalvin) Brown, Samuel Clinkscales, Wesley Clinkscales, Kendrick Cowans, Freddie (Rosa) Cowans, Christopher Johnson, Tony Wright, and Donnie Ray Wright. Her joy lives on in her grandchildren: Daijah Clinkscales, Tenijah Clinkscales, Kamijae Clinkscales, Jaedin Clinkscales, Xymir Hughes, and Xavier Hughes; and her great-grandchild, Braxton Pruitt.
She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Jessica Eppinger, Shanice (Demitirus) Quarles, Katie Bennett, Raenisha Bennett, Shakeira Hardy, Bradley Eppinger, Denzel Eppinger, Deandre Scotland, Wesley Eppinger, Antonio (Nicole) Clinkscales, Mi’Kerius Clinkscales, and Isaiah Hardy; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Jackie’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Royal Baptist Church. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing on Sunday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
