Iva Lee (Paul) Johnson

Iva Lee Paul Johnson, age 88, of Anderson, SC, passed away on February 3, 2025 at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.  She was born on March 18, 1936 to the late Jefferson Paul, Sr. and Josephine Hunter Paul Thompson.  She was married to the late Herman Johnson.

Iva was a special lady and the loss of her is felt deeply by many.  She was a beacon of kindness, love, and wisdom.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She was also like a grandmother figure to everyone she met.  Her spirit and strength, lives on in the lives that she touched by the love, strength, conviction, wisdom, and beauty of her soul.

She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Inez Paul Foster and Priscilla Johnson; her son, Bobby Lee Johnson; six grandchildren; eleven great-grands; eleven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bobby (Joyce) Paul; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Herman Johnson, Jr.; one granddaughter, Samantha Paul; four sisters, Elizabeth Mackey, Doris “Bealy” Johnson, JoAnn Paul Clayton, and Pastor Mary Lou Mackey; and three brothers, Jefferson, “Junior” Paul, John Marvin Paul, and Lewis Melvin Paul.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Flat Rock A.M.E. Church. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing Friday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Priscilla Johnson, 214 E. Pinedale Rd., Anderson, SC.
