Hyacinth Liloan Hoyte was born in Barbados, West Indies on December 15, 1929. She was the second child of Clarice and Clement Codrington.
She relocated first to Montreal, Canada and then to the United States in the early 1960's, where she brought up her children and was instrumental in raising a number of foster children over the years. In early 2020, she relocated to Anderson, South Carolina, her final resting place.
She was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cambria Heights, Queens, New York. For over 50 years, she always sat in her favorite pew with her own Bible. She would sing every hymn and enjoyed every minute of the service. She raised all her daughters and grandkids in the church.
She is survived in the United States, by her daughters, Heather-Ann Clinkscales, Cheryl Hoyte, Michelle Hoyte, and Janet Weston; her niece, Shirley Olivia Codrington; her grandchildren, Justin Roman and Joseph Weston; and her sons-in-law, Larry Clinkscales and Joseph A. Weston.
She will be sorely missed by all.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
