Hilda Marie Johnson Anderson was born in Anderson County, South Carolina on June 19, 1952. She departed her natural life here on earth to receive her eternal life with the Lord, on November 1, 2025, at her home. Hilda was the daughter of the late Olivia Johnson Baker and Robert Smith. She was a faithful member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Andrews, South Carolina until her untimely death. She enjoyed Sunday School every Sunday and later became a, faithful member of the Usher Board.
While in Rochester, NY, she worked at “Cross River Products” until moving to Andrews, South Carolina she worked at “Andrews Apparel” and she also worked at “Palmetto Apparel” during her time in the area.
Hilda met and married Willie Anderson in New York. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Willie Anderson and two children, her son Frederick Johnson and daughter Dedra Anderson. Four grandchildren: Frederick Johnson Jr., Deonte’ Johnson, Saadiya Johnson, and Surraya Johnson. Hilda was preceded in death by her younger son Willie Anderson Jr. and her brother Leroy Smith.
Siblings: Sandra J. Williams (Leonard), Bettie A. Flood (Jerome), John L. Baker (Sandra), Cynthia G. Richardson (Thomas), Joe Gree, Vori Smith, Leroy Smith, Debra Smith.
Garland D. Valentine (Doris), Geraldine Latimore (Richard), James M. Valentine (Shirley), and Kathy Jones. She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors, co-workers, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Iva SC. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing Friday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
