Herbert Adger, Jr.

Mr. Herbert Adger, Jr., age 83, passed in Anderson, SC on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Callie and John Rainey Hospice.  He was born April 26, 1941 in Anderson, SC to the late Herbert Adger, Sr. and Ethel Bennett Adger. 

Herbert served in the United States Air Force from 1963 until 1967 as a Jet Engine Mechanic.  He also served in the Vietnam War and received numerous awards and medals, such as the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.

Herbert loved getting up early every morning and sitting at the Stop A Minute so he could see and talk with his friends about the good ole days. He loved his children, grandchildren, Cadillac cars, watching Sci-Fi shows, and collecting guns.

He leaves to cherish his memories his four children: son, Anthony Adger; daughter, Shannon (Fredrick) Hill; son, Eric (Tish) Fair, and daughter, Allison Fair; loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Sr. and Ethel Adger, and his son, Harold Adger.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 in The Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Public viewing Thursday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
