We are blessed and grateful for the life of Mrs. Helen Ann Clayton Richey. She entered eternal rest surrounded by her loved ones on May 4, 2023.
She was born on September 21, 1945 in Anderson, SC to the late Isaiah "Ike" Clayton and Mattie Frances Clayton. She was a nurse at Anderson Memorial Hospital for 32 years. In her earlier years, she was a licensed cosmetologist as a hair stylist for Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Richey was a member of Royal Baptist Church, where she served on the Deaconess Board and on the Women's Choir. She was a faithful member until her health declined.
Mrs. Richey loved the Lord and her family faithfully. She is survived by her two daughters, Rosalind J. Richey (Billy) Lomax and Stephanie Bertha Regina Richey; five sons, Leonard Bernard Richey, Timothy Jerome Richey, Matthew Arnold Richey, Mark Isaiah Richey and Darius Richey; ten grandchildren, Xavier Richey Hunter, Taneza Richey, Jada Jemal Richey, Stephanie Richey, Tosha Richey, Jacob Richey, Jada Richey, Billy Lomax, Nigel T. Lomax and Chaz White; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Patricia (Robert) Clark; six nieces, Frances, Geneva "ReRe", Lutricia, Kecia, Lisa, and Sarah; four nephews, Anthony, Bobby, Kenneth and Joey; and a host of relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Richey, Jr.; mother, Mattie Frances Clayton; father, Isaiah Clayton; and two sisters, Geneva Walker and Alice Faye Wardlaw.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
