Hattie Pearl Maddox

Ms. Hattie P. "Sparrow" Maddox was born in Anderson, SC on November 30, 1956 to the late Lonnie and Suzanna Ella Mae Jones "Annie Sue" Maddox.  She was reared in the home of the late James Charlie and Pearl Lee Jones.  She passed away at the age of 68 on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at AnMed Health Medical Center. 

Hattie was a very caring and dependable person.  She always put the needs of those around her first, offering a helping hand whenever it was needed. She helped her siblings to raise most of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  The love she gave to each of them will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Carolacie Rice and her brother, John Maddox; her first cousins who were reared in the home as sisters and brothers, T. Ann Calhoun, Mary Jones Smith Willingham, Bessie "Lois" Jones Brown, and James Charlie Jones, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Charles E. Jones, George Jr. Fuller, and Willie Bell Holland.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Asbury Baptist Church.  The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Mary "Mae Liz " Willingham, 812 Ferry Street, Anderson, SC.
