Eva Mae Jones Sanders, 78, transitioned to her eternal home on May 25, 2026, at Abbeville Area Medical Center in Abbeville, South Carolina. She was born in Abbeville County, South Carolina, to the late Charlie and Catherine Bell Jones.
Eva graduated from J. S. Wright High School in 1965. She was employed at Rocky River Plant in Calhoun Falls. She was a devoted member of Brownlee Chapter OES #279 of Calhoun Falls and worked for many years with The Tracy Jackson Foundation. Eva loved her family dearly and enjoyed cooking and attending gospel programs.
She was married to the late Charlie Melvin Sanders. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lillie Bell Johnson, Thelma Edwards, and Barbara Chisley.
Her loving spirit, warm heart, and dedication to family and community will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Eva leaves precious memories to be cherished by her two daughters, Donna (Paul) Ashmore of Easley, South Carolina, and Katherine Taylor of West Columbia, South Carolina; her siblings, Florence Lewis of Bladensburg, Maryland, Sharon Postell and Charlie D. Jones of Calhoun Falls, South Carolina, Dennis Jones of Greenwood, South Carolina, and Gwendolyn (Ronnie) Allen of Ellenwood, Georgia; three granddaughters, Alycia Ashmore of Easley, South Carolina, and KeAirah and Kareena Taylor of West Columbia, South Carolina; one honorary daughter, Beverly Perrin of Elberton, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 1, 2026 at Mt. Olive Church of God Holiness (Calhoun Falls, SC). The interment will follow at Glovers A.M.E. Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Sunday from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home (Calhoun Falls).
