Obituary
Ester Marie Scott was born in Anderson County, South Carolina to Augustus and Annie Mae Webb Scott Smith. She departed this life on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Ester joined Mt. Able Baptist Church at a young age. She worked at Mac's Drive Inn for many years until her health failed. Ester LOVED having fun and was a big Clemson Tiger fan. She also loved to cook, fish and dance.
She will be so dearly missed by her family, Pendleton Community, and the many customers from Mac's Drive Inn. She is survived by her son, James Walter Scott; one granddaughter, Akira Adams; four sisters, Sharon (Pastor Wayne) Best of Anderson, SC, Annette Brown, Rosemary Mansell both of Pendleton, SC, and Darlene Richardson of Greenville, SC; two brothers, Jay Van Smith of Seneca, SC and Fernado Gambrell of New Haven, CT; and a host of relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter Webb, Mary Webb, Raymond Scott, Sr., and Marie Gaines Scott; one sister, Sarah Ann Scott; and four brothers, James Matthew "Jabo" Scott, Stanley Smith, Gignilliat Smith, Jr., and Terry Watson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.
