Mrs. Eldora Dean Rucker, 90 years old, of 411 Thomas Street, Anderson, South Carolina, was born December 11, 1931 in Anderson County, South Carolina to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry and Eldora Dean. On Saturday, July 2, 2022, Jesus sent His angels from above to bring His child home for eternal rest.
She attended the public schools of Anderson, South Carolina. She was a graduate of Anderson College where she received her Associate Degree. She was a dedicated and devoted member of Welfare Baptist Church, Belton, South Carolina. She gave of her services to the church as a faithful member of the music department and served in various other capacities.
Eldora Dean Rucker was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Jason Edward Rucker, Sr. and to this union, she leaves to cherish her memory one son, Paul Nathaniel Rucker of Richmond, Virginia; and one daughter, Margaret Amanda Palmer of North Charleston, South Carolina; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Additional loving family members acquired through marriage include two step-sons, Jason Edward (Margaret) Rucker, Jr. of Belton, South Carolina; and Benjamin Warren (Enjé) Rucker of Mitchellville, Maryland; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Eldora Rucker was preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters, three brothers, and one step-daughter, Mary Elizabeth Rucker.
Eldora Dean Rucker also leaves a host of close family members including a niece, Geneva Joyner Colbert of Jessup, Maryland; several beloved cousins; and a wide circle of church and community friends, all of whom will miss her very much.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Monday from 9:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
