Elder James Arthur Thomas

Elder James Arthur Thomas, 83, of 478 McMahan Mill Road in Piedmont, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

Elder James Arthur Thomas was a faithful and dedicated member to the Anderson First Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served as Head Elder and a plethora of other leadership positions for over 35 years.

He will be dearly missed by his devoted and loving wife of 55 years, Marjorie Ann Fewell Thomas; three daughters, Dr. Mattie Y. Thomas Sherard of Huntsville, Alabama, Audrey Thomas Hogan (Karreem), and Anna Thomas Davis both of Greensboro, North Carolina; a special god-daughter, Edee Jackson of Anderson, South Carolina, thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, Liz Chapman of Augusta, Georgia, two brothers, Fred Thomas of Augusta, Georgia, and Dr. Robert Thomas (Gloria) of Tampa, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lartrell Mahoney Thomas and one brother, Bobby Thomas.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Anderson-First Seventh Day Adventist Church.  Public viewing will be held on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  The interment will be held at 3:00p.m. on Tuesday at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
