Edna was born to Joseph and Emma Lou Scott on April 16, 1929, and departed this life peacefully on February 21, 2025. Edna was married to Deacon Squire Williams Jr., with whom she shared a beautiful life and raised six children in Troy, South Carolina.
Edna was a dedicated member of Springfield Baptist Church before becoming a devoted member of Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a Deaconess. Her unwavering faith was an integral part of her life, and she touched many lives with her kindness and love. Edna will be remembered as the best cook in the family. Her ability to prepare meals that brought people together was unmatched. She was a loving, selfless, and caring woman who always put her family first. Edna's kindness extended beyond her family, as she was known to be sweet and compassionate to everyone she met. She loved to sing hymns, filling her home with songs of praise and joy.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her daughter, Bobbie Jean (Joe) Harrison; her son, Rev. Dr. Ronnie (Helen) Williams; her daughter, Sandy (Frank) Caldwell; her son, Leonard Williams; her son-in-law, Willie Brown; and her daughter-in-law, Ida Morton. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, and all of whom were blessed by her love and presence.
Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Deacon Squire Williams Jr.; her son, Eddie Williams; her daughter, Lillie Brown; her grandson, Willie Marcus Brown; her grandson, Antwon Harrison; her brother Albert Scott, her brother Holland Scott, her sister Fannie Scott, her sister Annie Mae Scott, her sister Maggie Scott, brother James Scott, her parents; Joseph and Emma Scott.
Her legacy of love, devotion, and service will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come. Edna's warm heart and steadfast faith will be missed by all who knew her.
The funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Flint Hill Baptist Church (706 Flint Hill Church Road in Troy, SC). The interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Public viewing will be held Monday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at the home, 1214 Mt. Vernon Road in Troy, SC.
