Earlene Johnson

Earlene Johnson loved the Lord.  She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age.  She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church on Abbeville Highway in Anderson, SC.

She went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.  She was a God-fearing woman and was loved by many.  She never met a stranger and would also welcome people with open arms into her heart and home.

Her infectious smile was one of her signature traits.  Her ability to see the good in everyone was one of the best parts of her.  Although she has a huge family, her presence was felt by each and every one of them.  She doted over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her funny personality drew people towards her and a lot of times she would say the darnest things to keep you laughing.  She enjoyed trips with her siblings, music, sewing, and writing poetry.  Her favorite color was yellow and she loved all kinds of food. 

In recent years, she enjoyed fishing with her son and spending time on the porch with her sweet Marley.  She built special relationships with her daughter, Sweetie-Pie (Keshia) and her grandchildren, Eggy (DeJon), Baby Doll (KeDesha), Dimp (Mori) and Cupcake (Kenzi).  As you see, she loved to give everyone a nickname. 

Earlene was one of a kind with a heart of gold.  She left us with some great memories...mama, grandma, granny, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, even Abigail, no matter the title they were all special to her.  She will forever be in our hearts.  She will be greatly missed by her son, Arlandus (Angel) Johnson; step-children, Eddie Estrich, Jr. and Shennell Estrich; sister, Tanisha Johnson (Ted) Moore; brothers, Bobby Johnson, Charles Johnson, and Tommy (LaSherrie) Johnson; three grandchildren, Landrea Johnson, Coricious Johnson, Kenyana Johnson; three great-grandchildren; and a host relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Ruth Lee Johnson and Charles Earl Johnson and her brother, Kenneth Lee.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in the Ollie Robinson Brown Memorial Chapel of Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home.  Public viewing will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The family is at the home, 2416-C Belhaven Road in Anderson, SC.
