Douglas "Pete" Dennis

Mr. Douglas Wayne "Pete" Dennis was born April 14, 1945 in Iva, South Carolina to the late Gus "Bub" and Ollie Virginia Jones Dennis.  He departed this life on August 30, 2024.

At an early age, he joined Cross Road C.M.E. Church.  In later years he was a Trustee until his health started to fail.

He leaves to cherish fond memories to his son, Douglas Smith (Lawanda); three grandchildren, Keshawn Douglas Smith, Dakota Smith, and Dakori; one bonus grandchild, Breanna Rousey; four sisters, Martha Glenn of Iva, SC, Virginia Ladson, Patricia Thompson, and Gloria Dennis all of Anderson, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Ellen Ruth Crosby, Mary Dennis, Hazel Dennis, Lena Dennis, and Mildred Elizabeth Dennis; and five brothers, Harper, Mack, Harold, Chan, and Louie Dennis.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Cross Road C.M.E. Church.  The interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing Saturday from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
